Is anxiety sapping your time and draining your energy?

Overthinking stops you from being fully present and fully participating in your life. It thwarts your potential. You want to stop it but the thoughts keep flooding in.

I can help. I’m Laura Bonomo, a licensed psychologist who specializes in helping clients identify, change, and break free from the thought and behavior patterns that drive their anxiety. The patterns that block you from achieving your goals and living your ideal life. I’ll help you raise your hand, contribute your ideas, initiate interactions and take calculated bold chances without excessive worry.

I do my best work with people who:

  • Are High Achievers with Hidden Anxieties
  • Frequently Feel Overwhelmed
  • Tend to Overthink or Obsess
  • Are Going Through A Life Transition (Ending of a Relationship, Job/Career Change, etc.)
  • Have Social Anxiety
  • Secretly Worry That They Are Not Good Enough

Therapy, for me, is a collaborative partnership. Even with our youngest clients, I set goals, provide tools, revise as necessary and measure results.

I’ll learn your story, remember your key players, and walk with you as you implement changes. Part coach, part cheerleader, change is easier if you have someone going through it with you.

I have worked as a licensed psychologist for over 25 years and am the founder of Abridged Psychology. I’ve worked extensively with clients in the technology, finance and healthcare sectors and am also a certified school psychologist.  Give me a call and let’s have a conversation.

Emily Borghardt
Limited Licensed Social Worker

Hello, my name is Emily Borghardt.

I am a Limited License Social Worker specializing in anxiety, depression, addiction, and LGBTQ+ issues.

I have worked with teens, young adults, and older adults so they do not have to face these issues alone.

It’s okay to struggle and seek help.

Together, we can overcome whatever life decides to throw your way.

Utilizing both CBT and DBT skills, we can create a healthy mind and a happier life, either for you or for your loved ones.

Geoffrey Canada Jr.

Limited Licensed Social Worker

Hello, my name is Geoff,

I am a limited licensed social worker who specializes in working with adolescents and young adults that struggle with anxiety, and depression.

I take pride in meeting my clients where they are and providing a safe, nonjudgmental space for them to work on their various issues.

I believe therapy should be a collaborative process between the client and therapist. For people that:

  • Struggle with motivation
  • Need a strategy to help focus on school/work
  • Need a safe space to work on themselves mentally/emotionally
  • Suffer with anxiety whether it be school based or social

I am open and willing to assist in any way that we can find helpful.

I’m a calm, warm person who looks forward to each of my sessions.

I recently  obtained my master’s degree from NYU and as part of my training I worked at a public school with a variety of different students.

That experience helped me to understand the wide set of challenges students face and to learn multiple strategies for tackling those problems.

I don’t believe in cookie cutter solutions. Each person is unique.

This is the main reason why I believe therapy needs to be a collaborative effort.

I want to learn the details about what makes you, you.

Together we’ll set goals and decide on the steps to achieve those goals.

I look forward to working with you in the future and am wishing you a great day and an even better tomorrow!

KeriAnn Currlin, Ph.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Hello, my name is KeriAnn Currlin.

I am a licensed psychologist that specializes in supporting children, teens and young adults overcome a wide range of obstacles that often surface during the most critical time in their lives.

Without support, roadblocks like, (social/school anxiety, depression, socialization difficulties, loss of motivation, difficult behaviors, mood instability, etc.) can be debilitating. They can interfere with an individual’s ability to thrive.

The transition from childhood to adulthood is full of difficult decisions, peer conflicts, academic/work-related demands, body changes and more. I provide client-driven and solution-focused therapy that equips my clients with the tools they need to navigate through life’s many turns. As a clinician my goal is to enable my clients to use the strategies they acquire through our sessions independently, so that they are prepared to overcome obstacles in their lives long after our time together.

Life is filled with many difficult transitions. The demands and expectations of society can cause anxious feelings to take over thinking patterns.

This can lead to changes in behavior, loss of interest/ability to participate in socialization activities, changes in school/work performance and lack of motivation to achieve goals. These transitions do not have to lead to unhealthy habits.

My clients learn about the power of open communication and how to change their mindset, one small step at a time.

I have been a licensed psychologist in the state of New York for over five years and worked as an educator for ten.

During my time in the field of psychology and education I have worked with all ages from birth to adulthood. I have specialized training in applied behavior analysis (ABA), trauma-informed therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and often use popular techniques from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with my clients.

A dynamic and flexible clinician, I’m  eager to help you, or your child navigate through life’s toughest challenges

With young clients I also offer parent sessions in addition to therapeutic sessions with the client to guide and support the child’s treatment, while simultaneously maintaining client confidentiality.

If you or your child is:

  • having a difficult time with transitions in their life and/or making difficult decisions
  • feeling down, depressed, unmotivated, or experiencing loss of interest in most activities
  • suffering from anxiety and/or obsessive thoughts/behaviors
  • fighting feelings of body dysmorphia and/or having difficulty making healthy eating choices
  • dealing with mood instability or behavioral control

I can help! There is no such thing as a problem too small that is worth fixing. I am here to listen, and it is your turn to talk.

Justine D'Ambrosio

Limited Licensed Social Worker

Hi, I'm Justine,

I specialize in helping children, young teens and adolescents identify and utilize their strengths to help them thrive in all areas of their life. I believe that there is no “one size fits all” approach to counseling, and it is a team effort.

People often start therapy because they are seeking some kind of change; that change may involve developing new skills to combat their anxiety, to alter their thinking and behavior patterns, or to simply enjoy their life without second guessing themselves.  I strive to create a warm, inviting, and safe space for individuals to gain the insight and skills they need in order to make the changes they seek.

I work with clients who:

  • Obsess Over Negative Thoughts
  • Feel Like “a Failure”
  • Lack Self-Esteem
  • Feel Depressed, Sad, or Unworthy
  • Display Disruptive Behaviors
  • Have Social/Separation Anxiety

Therapy, at its best, can be both a healing and a growing experience.

I have worked with a diverse population of children and adolescents. It is my job, as a social worker, to meet you where you are with unconditional positive acceptance.

Natasha Sheikh

Limited Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Hello, my name is Natasha Sheikh!

I specialize in helping children, teens, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, low-self esteem, depression and interpersonal struggles.

I deeply value the therapeutic relationship and build upon connecting with clients to foster change. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for all clients to feel supported and able to grow.

I believe that by providing a safe space for clients and by being authentic, that I can aid them in surmounting behavioral and mental health struggles.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with an integration of art interventions to help identify and challenge intrusive thoughts, develop coping skills for life changes, anxiety, and depression.

I truly believe in making art for self-expression, as a way to communicate intense or negative feelings, and to use it as a tangible reminder of coping skills.

I combine making art with psychotherapy to help children, teens and adults increase self-esteem, develop anger management strategies, reduce anxiety, deal with major life transitions, work through grief and loss, and enhance communication skills.

I strive to help my clients recognize their self-worth and to be able to accomplish the goals they have set for themselves in life. I’m a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.

I believe that every individual is unique, and I strive to help everybody meet their full potential. I have a passion for guiding individuals through their journey while encouraging and supporting them along the way.

Hello, my name is Anastasiya.

I am a limited licensed social worker specializing in helping individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and navigating the world as an LGBTQ+ person.

In our sessions, we'll work together to create a safe space where you can explore your issues, identities, and find positive support. I bring decades of experience working with challenges from all around the world.
I hold an MSW degree from Columbia University School of Social Work.

Each session will be tailored to your individual needs, so we can work together to develop a method that works best for you.

My goal is to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where you can explore a part of yourself and come out on the other side feeling more centered and empowered. I look forward to working with you to bring about a brighter, more fulfilling life each and every day.

Michael Jonas
Limited Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Hi! I’m Michael.

Children, teens, and young adults sometimes struggle to thrive and succeed, whether on a day-to-day basis, or during periods of change and identity-building.
These challenges can result in:

● loneliness

● anxiety

● self-doubt

● a lack of energy

● an inability to focus.

If these or similar concerns are impacting your child’s well-being and daily functioning at school, work, or in their social life, it may be time to make a change.

In therapy, I will work with you and your child to help identify realistic, actionable, practical, and measurable steps that will help them to manage these issues.

Together, we will develop the self-assurance and the competencies needed to better care for themselves during challenging times in their life.

Whether it's anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, I’m here to partner with you and your child.

You don't have to go through this journey alone.

I believe in your child's potential for a brighter future, and I’m dedicated to empowering you and your child with the knowledge and tools necessary to make that future a reality.

Contact me today, and let's enter into the next chapter of your child’s life.

Morgan Snyder

Limited Licensed Social Worker

Hi and welcome!

I’m Morgan Snyder and I’m so happy you’re here.

Life can be overwhelming, messy and challenging, but that does not mean you need to face these life issues alone.

I specialize in helping children and teens identify, overcome, and reframe their thoughts, beliefs, and subsequently their behaviors to help them achieve a life without anxiety, depression and self harming behaviors.

I work with clients who:

  • View themselves as perfectionists and struggle with anxiety
  • Struggle with social anxiety
  • Struggle with low self esteem, confidence, body image issues
  • Are dealing with life changes (School/job change, family changes, and relationship issues).
  • Struggle with depression, motivation and negative intrusive thoughts
  • Are on the spectrum and diagnosed with autism

Visualize a life where you can speak up in class rather than slink off to the back row with your head down.

Visualize yourself trying out for that sport and making the team.

Visualize yourself confident, self assured, and genuinely laughing at a friend's joke rather than having to fake a smile just to get through the day.

Anxiety drags you into a vicious cycle of missing out on fun activities, school sporting events, parties, and suppresses your full potential.

Anxiety can leave you feeling overwhelmed by simple tasks, exhausted from worry, and alone even in a room full of people.

Life doesn’t have to be lived in this constant state of anxiety.

Therapy, for me, is about collaboration, communication and change.

I believe that by working together, setting realistic goals, creating a “tool box” of sorts, filled with everything you need to know, is the key to implementing long lasting change.

It's important for me as your therapist to meet you where you are currently at, listen to your story, learn your struggles, and help you through your issues.

Life is easier when you have someone on your side to guide you, and I am that person.

I have worked with:

  • Kiddos as young as 2 years old up to older adults
  • Teenagers that are struggling with the transition into early adulthood
  • Kiddos that struggle to find ways to regulate their emotions and cope with life challenges
  • People of all ages that are on the spectrum.

Wherever you currently are, whatever challenges you are going through, I truly believe that everything is “figureoutable”

Angela Steinmann

Limited Licensed Social Worker

Hi, I’m Angela Steinmann.

Let’s start your healing journey together!

Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed, or not good enough, I’m here to help.

Everyone can use a caring therapist to work with them to meet their needs and guide them on the path to an improved life.

It’s ok to ask for help. No problem is too small.

I offer a safe and warm environment for my clients to feel comfortable being vulnerable and sharing their life with me.

I take pride in providing a positive space for my clients to feel hopeful in reaching their goals.

My approach is individually tailored based on my clients’ symptoms, needs and goals.

Therapy is a collaborative effort and I look forward to working together on making positive changes.

I have worked with children, adolescents and young adults for 5 years. It is my passion to become a positive light in my clients’ life during a time that change does not seem possible.

I will meet you where you are with unconditional support and acceptance.

Monika Szymborska
Limited Licensed Social Worker

Hello, my name is Monika Szymborska.

I am a licensed social worker who is passionate about working with children and adolescents. I have worked in the field of education and social work. I use a culturally sensitive approach in my work.

I take great responsibility in helping children and adolescents through the different stages of child development and individual obstacles and stressors.

I take pride in providing a warm, positive, and safe space where children can be themselves.

I have worked with clients who:

  • struggle with low self-esteem and self-image
  • struggle with academic stressors and life changes
  • have problems with friends/peers at school
  • struggle with cultural differences between home and school
  • have experienced the death of a loved one

Therapy is a collaborative effort and I’m excited to join you on this journey. With the use of a strengths-based approach, I can help you identify your strengths and help you develop skills to combat anxiety. With the use of CBT, I will help bring awareness to your thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns.

I am here to listen. Together, we will work on making positive changes that will help improve your quality of life.

Wherever you currently are, whatever challenges you are going through, I truly believe that everything is “figureoutable”

Caryn Tarnoff, Ph.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Does your child or teen struggle with anxious thoughts that prevent them from making or keeping friends, speaking up in school, or participating in activities?

Do you wonder what to say to help them overcome their fears and be able to reach their potential?

Perhaps your child often feels angry, sad, or lonely and has trouble communicating these feelings.

Or, maybe your child feels overwhelmed by the demands of school or the need to be perfect.

I am Caryn Tarnoff.  As a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist, I have over seventeen years of experience with children and adolescents in a variety of school and clinical settings.  My work includes individual and group counseling with children, as well as consultation and support groups for parents and teachers.

My clients often struggle with:

  • Overcoming worries and anxiety
  • Overcoming obsessive thoughts or compulsive behaviors
  • Following rules at home and school
  • Making and keeping friends
  • Speaking up for themselves
  • Managing strong emotions, such as frustration, and worry

I will work closely with you and your child using cognitive and behavioral methods that have been proven effective by valid research. Together we will explore the connections between thoughts, feelings, and reactions, and work on challenging and changing the thoughts and behaviors that hold your child back.   I approach each client individually and come up with a treatment plan to best fit the needs of your child and family.

As a therapist, I have learned that the greatest changes occur when children feel heard and understood in session, while also learning specific skills that they can practice outside of their sessions.  You, as the parent and caregiver, are your child’s most important coach and supporter.

I am here to help you guide your child, as needed, in their practice of new skills and in forging new ways to communicate, solve problems, and overcome challenges.

Bianca D'Aguanno
Graduate School Intern

Hello I’m Bianca D’Aguanno.

Is your child struggling with low self-esteem?

Maybe they're wrestling with worry or finding it tough to form solid friendships?

I get it; watching your child struggle can be just as challenging, if not more so, than experiencing those struggles yourself.

Your child's happiness and well-being are your top priorities, and when you work with me, they become mine too.

My passion is helping children, teens, and young adults acquire the skills they need to tame their anxiety, conquer their fears, and develop rock-solid confidence.

My areas of expertise include guiding tweens and teens to:

  • Decrease Their Anxiety: I'll help your child gain tools to easily identify, challenge and change their anxious thoughts
  •  Choose Healthy Over Toxic Friendships/Relationships: Navigating friendships and relationships can be tricky. I'll guide your child in making healthy friendship choices.
  •  Assertively Advocate for Themselves: Empowering your child to speak up and stand up for themselves is a key focus of my work.

Through our strength-building therapy sessions, we'll join forces to learn valuable coping strategies to tackle life's everyday challenges.

I create a safe and nurturing space where your child can freely express their concerns and uncover their true feelings.

Together, we'll work hand in hand with your child to boost their self-esteem, tackle problems head-on, and uncover their incredible potential.

It's a journey of growth and self-discovery, and I'm here to help every step of the way.

If you're ready to give your child the tools they need to thrive, let's connect. Your child's brighter, more confident future is just around the corner!
